Australian Highland Wine Awards Night

So what does “highlands” and “high altitude” actually mean?

Anything above 500 meters in altitude! So the Australian Highlands Wine Awards are open to all Australian wines made from grapes that are sourced from vineyards above 500 metres.

Last year, the panel of judges included chief judge Toni Paterson MW, Rob Geddes MW and Aaron Mercer winemaker at Mercer Wines along with associate judges Paul Diamond from Selector Magazine and Ashlyn Foster assistant head sommelier at Quay Restaurant (The Fink Group). They used every last drop of their expertise to critique the entrants with judging over tow days.

This year our judges will again judge the wines over two days and the winners will be announced at a prestigious awards presentation evening held at Southern Highlands Winery on Friday 28th October 2022.
